It is signed "Oswar" by Ecuadorian artist Oswar Torres.  This experienced artesian has a very distinctive style and creates his beautiful unique collages using the dry leaves of banana, corn, eucalyptus and other native South American plants. The leaves are dried in their natural state, clear coated to preserve them, and then cut and glued to a matted heavy cardboard surface.

The mat for this piece is done in a white while the colorful butterfly is made of soft muted natural colored earth tone leaves. This is an original work of art, not a reproduction.
